BYU finished 36th out of 278 schools in the recent 2009-10 Learfield Sports Directors’ Cup all-sports standings for college athletics. That is pretty impressive and is the highest ranking for a non-automatic qualifying conference.
BYU has led the Mountain West in this ranking every single year since the league was formed in 1999. There is no question who has the best overall athletic program in the Mountain West Conference. Tom Holmoe is doing a great job down at BYU!
In true form Utah finished right around the middle of the pack for the MWC.
